ADC testing using digital stimuli

The Analogue-to-Digital Converter (ADC) is one of the most typical and widely used mixed-signal circuits. They are applied in video, audio, high-speed communications systems and so on. Many ADCs are integrated into platform-based designs, the architecture which normally contains of standard blocks such as memories, digital processors, RF and analogue front-ends. As testing such a system is a co...

Adc Architectural Diagnostic Testing Procedures

Fred H. Irons, Donald M. Hummels, and Cindy ????? Zoldi Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering University of Maine, Orono, Maine USA [email protected] ABSTRACT Procedures have been developed to apply ADC modeling techniques to the diagnosis of high-speed Folding Amplier Interpolating Resistive (FAIR) networks. This paper presents results and describes procedures used to obtain mea...

Noise floor in ADC testing

Noise floor is a frequency spectrum parameter that is widely used in ADC testing although it has not been properly defined and described by a formula in any ADC standards yet. IEEE Std 1057-1994 does not mention the noise floor but it generally uses noise or noise level that is not defined. IEEE Std 12412000 provides a formula for noise floor computation depending on the number of ADC bits; con...

Signal Generator with Minimal Distortion for ADC Testing

The special generator of testing signal was designed for the frequency of 441.171 kHz. The generator consists of the special crystal oscillator and a high power amplifier. The frequency stability of the generator is in order of 10/day, the output power 1W, the value of SINAD is close to 120 dB and the total harmonic distortion under 170 dB by using of linear narrow-band filter.

Concurrent Testing of ADC for Embedded System

Compaction testing methods allow at-speed detecting of errors while possessing low cost of implementation. Owing to this distinctive feature, compaction methods have been widely used for built-in testing, as well as external testing. In the latter case, the bandwidth requirements to the automated test equipment employed are relaxed which reduces the overall cost of testing. Concurrent compactio...
